Vintage + traditional = inspiration...

I got my new Traditional Home magazine and was completely blown away by the pictures of the homes. Gone are the uninspired homes they have regularly featured! This issue has one house after another of really unique and different looking homes - traditional with a vintage and colorful twist! One designer really stands out for me - Berkley Vallone, who lives in Scottsdale, AZ and has a really charming and quirky home. See what you think:

Wow, wow - Lee Jofa paper, Jonathon Adler accessories, Elkay faucet!

On the beach...

Guess where I was? Hull, Massachusetts, a lovely seaside town south of Boston for product training with Rohl.  During a quick break today, we walked down to the beach, and oh was it wonderful breathing sea air, feeling the wind on my face and the warmth of the sun! I HAVE to get to the beach more often! We even stayed in a hotel across from the beach so I had a view from my sliding glass doors - fabulous.

On the beach, Hull, MA - someone got a blanket ready...

The water was a stunning blue-green...

Homes overlooking the beach...

We learned a lot about Rohl faucets and Victoria + Albert tubs - more on that
soon...hope you are having a great week!

Sexy in the showroom...

The new Kohler Bellera kitchen faucet is my new favorite go-to and I have been selling it to almost every homeowner who comes in the showroom. It is sleek, sexy, minimal and will look great on a granite counter with just one hole.  It is easy to clean around, gives you more counter space and is truly functional with a pause button (so you don't spray down the entire kitchen behind you!) and two different sprays. What do you think? Are you lovin' this??

Bellera Chrome faucet

Bellera Oil Rub Bronze faucet

Bellera Vibrant Stainless faucet

You don't need to use the escutcheon plate -

Kohler's Bellera faucet in chrome, oil rub bronze and vibrant stainless are all under $300 - pretty good huh?

Kohler's new website is having some serious issues right now, so hopefully it will be running smoothly soon!!

Gotta have these...

One of my favorite catalogs is the Home Decorators Collection that I swiped from my Dad's house. I was looking through it yesterday imagining my dream home decor and what I would buy.  These three items caught my eye as accessories I would love to own. A girl can dream right??

This Freeport Sisal Rug is only $39 for a 4x6 - what a great neutral!

How sweet is this little ottoman? The Lily Ottoman on sale for $39.99

My motto for the last two years, this is only $39 in red or blue - need I say more??

(Disclaimer: I do not receive any payment for these product suggestions)

So, what do you think? Would you like to purchase one of these for a design project or your own home?

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the day!!

Easter Sunday in the kitchen...

Happy Easter and Happy Passover to everyone! This is one of my all time favorite designs for a kitchen - the kitchen that looks more like a room without the usual counters, cabinets and island with all the de rigueur appliances.  I would love to sit down here every day.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Traveling in style...

Well, I was supposed to be in London this week but got a cold and was unable to fly. I won't bore you with the details, but, I have had four ear operations and flying with any congestion is just not possible. So, I was thinking...a long time ago I lived in Great Britain and flying back home regularly introduced me to looking more like a grown up rather than a student, since I was a few years out of college: looking great while making the skip across the pond. I used to make a real effort because I didn't want to look like a typical American in a nylon jogging suit that made a loud swishing sound when walking. I was determined to stand out from the crowd. I remember one outfit of leggings, a beautiful pair of brown boots and my mother's big brown faux fur coat. I thought I looked pretty good and I probably did!! It was better than sweats...so, from my favorite pin board take a look at these:

OMG, who wouldn't want these gorgeous bags to fly with???

I would love to step off the plane wearing this, preferably on the tarmac
where the paparazzi are waiting...;-)

Yes, I will take those sunglasses and I want my hair like that too...

Ok, Kelly Ripa doppelganger (I think)...but the pearls and glasses make the
statement...hello love, I'm here...

I would like to carry this bag on the plane with me, but, with white gloves on too...

I secretly wish I could dress like its the 1950's all the time...I would love
to wear this for travel...or to work...

Back to reality...I love this chic and colorful outfit and it
would look right in London...

Or polka dots...I would love to wear this while pulling my
suitcase behind me at Heathrow...

The more casual travel look, but still paparazzi-effective with the scarf...

This looks so comfortable - the bag isn't too big,
the leopard scarf, Birkin like bag and smile just
screams 'I'm cool' -

Now, my grandparents used to drive one hour home from their lake house and
would dress up - suit, tie, dress, patent handbag...the works.  They might
stop for dinner and run into people they knew. But, full disclosure, my grandfather was a former Congressman so he could be recognized and always wanted to look his best.

I think we have lost the art of dressing up everyday and I wish we could go back to a time when everyone made an effort to look presentable whether at the grocery store or dropping the kids off at school.

When you look good, you feel good and people will treat others differently based on appearance.

Do you like to stand out from the crown when you travel or go to the store? Do tell!

Have a great week, welcome and thank you to my new followers!

Gotta have these...

I came across these items and wanted to share them with you.  Martha Stewart has some very chic office supplies at Staples right now and adorable little tags I thought would look great in a  linen closet to designate different piles of towels and sheets etc.  We just displayed this gorgeous  new faucet by Elkay, my new favorite, need I say more? And, finally,  a new handmade chair from Indonesia at IKEA - with beautiful lines and great for a living room, porch or bedroom.

Martha Stewart's cool office supply tags $2.99 for a 12 pack;

ELKAY Explore faucet $535-$735 in Brass or Chrome;

IKEA's  brand new Storsele Chair for $119.00
