My posts are so sporadic these days, I must apologize. I wish I could post every day, but, I just don't find the inspiration lately. Does this happen to you? Well, let's start the weekend here with some thoughts for the patio, backyard, front porch etc...we are always talking and posting about interior design, but how about exterior design for a change?

I am still on the hunt for a sweet and small table and chair set for my cottage.  It is for the front of the house where I used to have my picnic table (that rotted and I had removed late last summer). This year I am going to rent my house, hopefully from June-November, possibly longer. I am looking for long term tenants that will take care of the house.  Is this possible? I hope so! For any skeptics out there who are hesitant about using white in design, here are some examples to prove just how versatile and truly neutral white is.  White will make any color pop, white can add texture and add sheer chic to any design. What a week - I don't really know what to post.  Everyday life becomes so trivial when you read about death and carnage that is all so unnecessary.  Instead of interiors, I thought I would post a good old quote:

Food for thought?  2012 was a year of profound changes for me.  As I get older I realize that you can always revise -- whether its your house, your life, your body, your nutrition, your spirituality, your job, your sofa, your nail polish and the list goes on.  Some of these things are trivial, such as nail polish! but, your life, body etc. are definitely an important ongoing work in progress right? 

So as spring is here (supposedly!), will there be anything in your life you will be revising this year?

As I get ready to sell off my furniture which is housed in an expensive storage unit, I was able to look through the pictures and see my projects I loved doing.  I must part with some of my pieces now.

I love buying a table for less than $20 and painting it a fun color to mix with my other furniture. I gave my coffee table and matching side tables to a friend and will be getting rid of pretty much all my pieces, save for one or two.  I am downsizing in the biggest way possible and have some future plans I can't share yet.  My sofa and a couple of pieces that belonged to my grandparents will be going as well.  After all, its only stuff.  I think it was George Carlin who said: 'you get rid of stuff and then you get more stuff' - ain't that the truth!!??!  Are you feeling the 'spring cleaning' bug yet??
